Humor Chic is a fashion blog by aleXsandro Palombo who critiques and satirizes fashion through illustration. It is updated just about daily, keeping you in the know of fashion’s latest controversies. He also happens to be a strong human and animal right’s advocate reporting on issues such as Cambodians being payed slave wages by H&Mthe illegal trade of python skins for luxury fashion, and the Chinese fad of keeping live fish and turtles in keychains.

Above are a few images from his ongoing attack campaign STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY, targeting the likes of Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld and fashion label Fendi.

Anonymous asked: What are your shopping list essentials for a vegan diet? I've recently switched from vegetarian and I want to make sure I get everything I need. Thanks! x

Congrats! I hope you’re loving veganism, and all its benefits :-)

My essentials are:

Leafy, and dark green vegetables — kale, spinach, brocolli, collard greens, swiss chard, celery, cucumber etc.
Organic extra virgin olive oil
Nuts — walnuts, brazil nuts, almonds
Seeds — Chia, pumpkin and sunflower
Fruit
Tomatoes
Avocadoes
Wholegrains — bread, pasta, and rice
Almond milk, rice milk, soy milk — I alternate between them
Tofu
Organic Peanut Butter
Lentils
Beans — Kidney beans & borlotti beans are my faves.
Mushrooms
Lemons
Cocunut milk
Sesame oil
Almond butter
Maple Syrup

These are my basics, and then I add to them whenever I need xo

Hands up if you want gorgeously glossy locks that tumble halfway down your back? Or maybe you want a short, sleek bob that tickles your chin? Or perhaps your preferred ‘do is super-short, punky spikes? Whatever look you’re after, the most desirable style is healthy hair, and we can smother our mane is as many ‘miracle’ products we can afford, but what goes in is even more important that what goes on (our hair, that is.)
Nourishing hair masques, and conditioners are great for getting silky locks and injecting moisture into bleached tresses, but who woulda thought food could help you achieve beautiful hair and keep it healthy from root to tip?
Here’s your best friends for getting a shiny mane:
Spinach — packed with iron, folate, vitamin C and beta carotene to keep your hair follicles healthy, and stimulate your scalp’s natural oils for shiny hair all year round.
Blueberries — full of vitamin C which is essential if you want to maintain long, healthy locks. Not getting enough vitamin C in your diet can lead to hair snapping and breaking off.
Walnuts — they’re jam packed with omega-3 fatty acids, which helps protect your hair from sun damage. Plus they’re rich in biotin, which should keep your mane gorgeously thick - not enough biotin can lead to hair loss. Walnuts are also a great source of copper which keeps your hair colour looking vibrant and lustrous.
Wholegrains — a great source is zinc, which is vital for healthy growth and can even help thicken hair.
Carrots — full of vitamin A which maintain shine giving you enviably glossy locks.
Bananas — a lack of vitamin B6, which helps your body absorb nutrients, in your diet leads to hair thinning and hair loss. Bananas are a full of it, so eat ‘em up. Plus vitamin B6 nurtures your hair follicles to help growth and shine.

Our health is so, so important. Let’s make 2013 the year that we value our health, and indulge in delicious, natural foods. Your body will thank, and repay you a thousand times over.

The easiest, and tastiest, way to boost your health is juicing.
If you’re new to juicing start off with light, sweeter juices like carrots with apples, oranges, lime, celery and ginger. Before working your way up to green juices made with kale, spinach, collard greens, celery, pear, wheatgrass and brocolli.

Drink them whilst they’re fresh, and juice the fruits and veggies raw to get maximum nutrients and ensure your body absorbs all the vitamins and minerals.

I woke up today feeling as if I’d been brutally punched and kicked all over during the night, which can only mean one thing. Yep, you guessed it. The flu.
Like everyone, I hate feeling ill — the flu makes me feel miserable and useless, but I completely refuse to mope around and let it get the better of me. I just use it as an excuse to indulge in creativity instead. It always, always works so I’d thought I’d share a few of my tricks with you:
Create a visual inspirations board — just like the picture above, stick your favourite photos, ticket stubs, film quotes, and anything else that makes you feel happy onto a large board. Display it somewhere you’ll see a lot to give you a boost of inspiration and creativity each day.
Annotate the crap out of your favourite book — Underline the sentences or paragraphs that make your skin shiver with inspiration, and read them aloud. Then write them in beautiful writing across blank pages of your journal.
Leave lipstick love notes — To yourself, or your housemate or your boy/girlfriend. Scribble something lovely on a napkin, or a mirror and wait for them to find it and feel special.
Practice makes perfect — If you envy girls who make victory rolls look effortless, then nows your chance! Watch tutorials on youtube and make a collage of images of girls from the 50s and get cracking.
Research something new — Crystals seem to have become the ‘it’ thing on social media sites lately with everyone photographing their collection to writing about the benefits. If you want to be in the know, why not make today the day you research them and find out. Or pick a subject totally at random and get clued up on it. Make it fun, and make it useful.
